General Manager

Reporting To : Chief Executive Officer - Africa

Key Responsibilities :

Retailing

  • To ensure sales are at optimum as per budgets
  • Manage and oversee day to day operations per location through the assistance of shop managers
  • Floor and space planning and management
  • Ensuring that merchandizing and display standards are maintained per location
  • Conduct in-store product promotion periodically and provide feedback to your reporting manager
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Reordering for international imports and local supplies
  • Liaison and follow up with head office in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE and local suppliers for all orders placed
  • Planning for logistics
  • Economic distribution and allocation of goods to all shops in Cape Verde an inter-island transfer

Management

  • Management and maintenance of accurate pricing and stock controls
  • Elimination of dead or slow moving stock with approval from your reporting manager
  • Controlled turnaround of stock resulting in increased cash flow
  • Regulate the procurement for the duty free shops
  • Ensure that the local purchases are aligned and there is better credit terms negotiated and supplies are regulated

Administration

  • Ensure the project is operating as per the company’s requirements
  • Ensure regular statutory compliance of the company and it’s various departments
  • Personnel administration and HR at location level, but must inform your reporting manager and regional HR on all important issues
  • Ensure all departments are working in a cohesive manner to achieve to company’s objectives.

Project Management

  • Lead all new shop builds and renovations of existing shop site
  • Co-ordinate on site construction with non-Flemingo construction teams to ensure 100% quality control when construction being implemented
  • Project plan updates
  • Manage the roll-out/implementation of any planned projects as directed by management
  • Any other jobs and responsibilities as and when given by Management from time to time
