Finance Manager


  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles, regulations and legislation pertaining to sound accountancy practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of business, the application thereof, the opportunities within business and the seizure of such opportunities
  • Sound knowledge of the business environment, the relevant role players within the business and their key responsibilities and outcomes
  • The ability to manage conflict in such a way that the cause of the conflict is understood by all relevant role players and that the issue causing the conflict is resolved in an amicable manner
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of financial systems, the components thereof and the application of the system
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles of financial management and the instruments utilised to manage the health and wealth of the organisation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the international principles and guidelines relating to the reporting of financial positions of the organisation
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the legislation and regulations inclusive of legislative and regulatory bodies within a specific environment
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles of performance management that enables sound management of human capital
  • Advanced business communication skills enabling verbal and written communication at all levels
  • The ability to analyse situations and to arrive at the best possible solution
  • The ability to manage assets in such a way that its life cycle is preserved and exceeded to the benefit of the business and thereby increasing Asset Turnover and Return on Investment
  • The ability to analyse business and business activities to determine the health and wealth within the business and to ensure financial viability and risk mitigation
  • The ability to understand the problem/situation, evaluate alternatives and take timely action, which will enhance the performance of the organisation
  • The ability to analyse financial information to determine financial health of an organisation
  •  The ability to attract, develop, measure and retain competent and committed human resources to enable achievement of business targets and objectives
  • The ability to guide, direct and influence people in such a way that outputs are performed at an excellent level
  • The ability to negotiate with role players and arrive at a win-win situation in the best interest of the organisation and the negotiating party
  • The mathematical skills needed to cope with everyday life and an understanding of information presented mathematically, e.g. in graphs, charts, or tables
  • The ability to apply planning techniques to conduct effective planning of work outputs and resources
  • The ability to be firm in all situations without sacrificing principles
  • The ability to determine deadlines and execute outputs accordingly without exceeding target dates
  • The ability to place one self outside a situation, take all the relevant information into consideration and draw conclusions
  • The ability to maintain work rate according to standards whilst operating under severe time and delivery constraints

  • Min 5 yrs exp in a similar role
